Between State Agencies with MCHCP Medical Benefits
If employment is terminated and subscriber is rehired in the same month, current coverage is continuous.

If employment is terminated and subscriber is rehired in the following month, there are two options:

  1. Continue coverage in the same level of coverage and plans, or
  2. End current coverage and elect coverage as a new hire. Enrollment must be completed through SEBES within 31 days of the new hire date. Coverage will begin the first of the month after enrollment is completed. If MCHCP coverage is not elected, the employee may enroll during the next Open Enrollment for coverage effective the following January.

Employees coming from MoDOT, Conservation and Highway Patrol
If employment is terminated with one of these agencies and subscriber is hired by an MCHCP-covered agency in the same month, medical coverage begins the first of the next month. Dental and vision coverage is continuous.

If employment is terminated with one of these agencies and subscriber is hired by an MCHCP-covered agency in the next month, medical coverage can be requested to begin the first of the month. Dental and vision coverage is continuous.

Enrollment must be completed through SEBES within 31 days of the new hire date. If MCHCP coverage is not elected, the employee may enroll during the next Open Enrollment for coverage effective the following January.
