| Administration |
The statutes provide that the
administration of MCHCP be vested in a thirteen (13) member Board of Trustees . The Board is comprised of:
- The Director of the Department of Health, serving ex
officio.
- The Director of the Department of Insurance, serving ex
officio.
- The Commissioner of the State Office of Administration,
serving ex officio.
- One member of the Senate from the majority party,
appointed by the President Pro Tem of the Senate.
- One member of the Senate from the minority party,
appointed by the President Pro Tem of the Senate with the concurrence of the
Minority Floor Leader of the Senate.
- One member of the House of Representatives from the
majority party, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
- One member of the House of Representatives from the
minority party, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives with
concurrence of the Minority Floor Leader of the House of Representatives.
- Six members appointed by the Governor with the advice and
consent of the Senate. Of the six members appointed by the Governor, three
shall be citizens of the state of Missouri who are not members of the plan, but
who are familiar with medical issues. The remaining three members of the Board
shall be members of the Plan.
- The management of MCHCP is the responsibility of the
Executive Director who is appointed by the Board and serves at its pleasure.
The Executive Director acts as advisor to the Board
on all matters pertaining to the Plan and, with the approval of the Board,
contracts for professional services and employs the staff needed to operate the
Plan.
