My name is Amanda.
As a new employee, you have many benefit options from which to choose. The purpose of this video is to get you started and give you tips on making those choices. You can obtain general information from this website as well as access the Member Handbook and Enrollment Guide.
The Member Handbook explains about the medical plans and coverage under each plan, as well as the optional plans that are available.
The Enrollment Guide explains how to enroll in the plans and the cost of each plan.
Additional benefit videos are available on this website as an aid in making your choices.
Once you have taken a look at the options and made your choices, you are ready to enroll. You will need the complete names, birthdates, and Social Security numbers for each person you are enrolling.
You must enroll within 31 days of your hire date. Your enrollment becomes effective the first of the month following your hire date and the date your enrollment is completed. To enroll, use SEBES, the Statewide Employee Benefit Enrollment System. You can log onto SEBES at www.sebes.mo.gov.
To log in, you need the last four digits of your SSN and your SEBES password. If you provided your HR representative with an e-mail address when you filled out our initial employment paperwork, your SEBES password is e-mailed to you. If you did not provide an e-mail address, your SEBES password is mailed to you. During your initial log in, you are asked to change your password. Be sure to keep your password in case you need to finish your enrollment at another time or make changes.
Once you are in SEBES, you can edit your personal information and make your benefit selections. SEBES requires you to make selections for your Medical, Dental and Vision plans. Click on the yellow Enroll icon and follow the prompts. There are tabs for Medical, Dental, Vision and a "Spouse Section" specifically for employees who are married to another state employee.
In each of these sections, choose your plan and level of coverage. In these screens, you can waive coverage or enroll dependents, including your spouse and children. You have the option to "Save for Later" if you need to obtain more information and come back to the option. If you want to start over, click "Cancel Changes."
Once you have completed all sections, click "Complete MCHCP Enrollment." Confirm your selections and review them for accuracy. Your dependents will show on the "Dependent Infomation" screen.
It is important to note that once you submit your enrollment, if you log back into SEBES, your dependents will not show. Once MCHCP has received and processed proof of eligibility for your dependents, they will show covered in SEBES.
Print the confirmation page. After you receive your confirmation number, you can return to SEBES to finish electing your benefits or you can exit the system. Weekly e-mail updates are sent from SEBES until you have enrolled in all of the required benefit programs.
Remember, you must enroll in your MCHCP benefit options within the first 31 days of your hire date.
You can access your personal benefit information during the year by logging into myMCHCP using your MCHCPid and PIN. These numbers are sent to you in separate mailings.
