Producer Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Communications or other closely related field from a four-year accredited college or university.  A Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation may substitute for this requirement or three years of experience.
• Some knowledge of local government processes and understanding of the issues affecting the purchase of goods and services by these entities.
• Knowledge of managed health care products including health maintenance organizations (HMO), point of service (POS) and preferred provider organizations (PPO).
• Current Missouri producer license to sell health insurance products.  Copy of license to be provided to the MCHCP.
• Must currently have a portion of current book of business in the public entity market.  This may include lines other than health.
• Must have current in force errors and omissions policy and proof of said insurance to be provided to MCHCP.  Any cancellation of said policy must be provided to MCHCP by the company underwriting said policy.  Contractor agrees to notify underwriting company of this requirement.

Producer Duties

• Explain the coverage’s available through MCHCP.
• Assure that the necessary application for membership and participation agreement is accurately completed and delivered to MCHCP in a timely manner.
• Attend enrollment meetings for employees of the client public entity and assist in completing these forms.
• Assure the accuracy and completeness of information on enrollment forms and deliver same to MCHCP in a timely manner.
• Respond to questions from the client public entity regarding benefits and eligibility.  Forward unanswerable questions or complaints to MCHCP for resolution.
• Be in contact with the client public entity at least twice during the policy period.
