MCHCP contracts with Mercy Health Plans to offer two benefit designs:

PPO - The Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan features the freedom to choose care from any physician, specialist or hospital. There are no referrals needed when accessing specialist care. Members are able to access non-network providers with benefits covered at reduced level.

POS - The Point of Service (POS) plan allows members the choice of receiving services from network or non-network providers. If services are received within the plan’s network of providers, the member is responsible for set copayment amounts. If services are obtained from non-network providers, the member is responsible for a deductible and coinsurance amounts.

Our plan options differ by employer size:

Small Employers - Employers with 25 or less eligible employees may select one product to offer to employees.

Large Employers - Employers with 26 or more eligible employees can elect to offer employees the choice between the benefit designs offered in that region or the employer may choose to offer just one plan.
